Receiving national attention in the late nineties as Cajual Record’s
top-gun producer, Mark Grant has enjoyed mass appeal with “Dancin”
as Chicago Connection and the Braxton Holmes EP, as well as
remixed for Holmes, Glenn Underground, Andre Harris and Green
Velvet. Recently, Grant released quite a masterpiece with Sound
Design 2, the follow-up to Om Records first Sound Design
album mixed by LA house legend Marques Wyatt. Grant’s smoother,
sultry style furthers the soulful house tradition of the San
Francisco-based label. His tension-and-release style of mixing
allows the tracks to create movements in the mix, taking the
listener through different moods. With a number underground cuts,
Grant creates an eclectic—and what he deems a “perfect”—mix,
representing the depth of his seasoned experience as a house DJ and
producer. Check out featured tracks from Truby Trio and Osunlade
and keep an eye out for an upcoming national tour. (Om/CD/US) |
